My Sebring 12 Hours Over the Years

The #Sebring12 Hour.  An icon in motorsports history and still one of the greatest races in the world.

Oddly enough, in my 21 years as a professional sportscar racer I’ve only competed in the Sebring 12 Hour 8 times.  It’s one of my favorite races, and certainly one of my favorite race tracks.

A Piece of History at Daytona

During the Rolex 24 at Daytona weekend I had the opportunity to drive a very special car that was on display in the Heritage Exhibition in the Fan Zone during the “24 Minutes of Daytona” - a 1987 Protofab Chevrolet Corvette, Chassis #001 - owned by my good friend Wally Owens, and immaculately restored by Dan Binks.

20 Years of Sports Car Racing

2023 will be my 20th year of professional sportscar racing, which began with the 2003 Rolex 24 at Daytona - my very first sportscar race! And that came after 10+ years of karting & open wheel racing.  Quite an anniversary, and I can’t believe it’s all gone by so quickly.

A Note To My Competitors.

I was kindly asked by SRO America to take down my social media posts from Sunday and consider revising my message to be more clear about the events from this past weekend at VIR. As I like to consider myself an ally and an enthusiastic supporter of all of the series I compete in I was happy to remove my post from all platforms and post again, with a more clear message.

January Update from Guy

It's the final hours before the big race. Teams are putting the finishing touches on their cars, tuning, tweaking and running through every possible scenario they might experience in the race right up to the last possible second...and just like my colleagues up there, I've waited as long as possible to make this announcement, but at this point it's official: I unfortunately won't be racing in this year's Rolex 24 at Daytona.

2020 Racing Season Review

The 2020 racing season was certainly a strange one. Here’s my recount of what happened with my racing season in 2020. It started out in January with a very last-minute deal to join Rick Ware Racing / Eurointernational for the remainder of the Asian Le Mans Series, marking my 3rd consecutive year racing in the series. Despite missing the first round teammates Anthony Lazzaro, Phil Mulacek and myself grabbed 3rd in the LMP2-Am championship with a 2nd place finish in Australia, a controversial non-points-finish after leading nearly all of the race in Malaysia and then a win in Thailand.

Happy Holidays from Guy!

Wishing you a wonderful holiday season filled with laughter and love. We’ve all faced many challenges this year but we still have much to be thankful for. And I’d like to thank you, for your continued friendship and support. 2020 is a year we will all remember but I’m sure, like me, your sights are set on a much better year in 2021.

Update from Guy: Racing Plans, Future Moves & More

Hello everyone!

It’s been a while since I’ve reached out. It’s certainly been a challenging time in the world so I hope this update finds you and your loved ones healthy and happy. I’m fortunate to say all of us in the Cosmo family have been healthy and surviving the pandemic with an open, positive outlook, making due as best we can. As you could imagine, COVID-19 has wreaked havoc on all but a few professions and businesses - the racing world certainly not exempt from it.

Oh, COTA… This was definitely not a great weekend for us at Team TGM. Let me share my story with you.  One of the challenges of this weekend was track time. With IMSA, WEC, Lamborghini Super Trofeo and GT3 Cup on the roster in addition to us in Continental Tire SportsCar Challenge, we had less available track time and also no promoter test day.

After such a strong run at Road America in my first weekend with Team TGM we had high hopes for VIR.  Like Road America, VIR is a true road course but with a very unique set of challenges compared to other tracks, given it’s variety of corners, curbing and those fast uphill esses!  But this weekend at VIR was a tricky one to say the least…
