Hello everyone!

It’s been a while since I’ve reached out. It’s certainly been a challenging time in the world so I hope this update finds you and your loved ones healthy and happy. I’m fortunate to say all of us in the Cosmo family have been healthy and surviving the pandemic with an open, positive outlook, making due as best we can. As you could imagine, COVID-19 has wreaked havoc on all but a few professions and businesses - the racing world certainly not exempt from it.

WHAT HAPPENED?

All of the racing and on-track driving activity in North America came to an abrupt halt in March. During that time an awful lot of ‘SIM Racing’ took place, connecting fans with drivers & racing series in a unique and entertaining way to help pass the time. As the racing series adjusted their schedules and implemented safety protocols to help get our industry back underway excitement began to grow that we could all get back to work and find our sanity once again. However, just as racing began to resume, the GT World Challenge America program I was racing in with K-PAX Racing / Bentley along with my co-driver Patrick Byrne, was cancelled for the rest of the season. This was hugely disappointing, as there was so much promise for that program and everyone had put an enormous amount of time and effort into it. At the same time all of my scheduled coaching plans were also canceled for the remainder of the year so right when I was ready to get going again, I was hit with another whammy.

I’m sure many of you can relate or have experienced worse. It’s been a challenging time for sure and we are all facing an uncertain future but we have to rise up, face the challenge and make something great happen. I’m certainly working on that!

WHAT’S NEXT?

I’ve learned a lot through the last few months and I’m determined to turn these challenges into a great future opportunity. Though I don’t have anything to announce just yet, for me, something bigger remains.

I will definitely continue racing. It’s my ultimate passion in life and there are still plenty of things to check off of my list. I will also continue to coach drivers, as well as expand the services of Cosmo-Sport, which include developing training and racing programs for drivers, offering consulting services, automotive event management and race program development / management. A number of interesting topics have surfaced lately that I’m exploring with great excitement.

One benefit - my schedule has opened up to take on new projects with people / teams / drivers / companies to do things I wasn’t previously available to do. With close adherence to state guidelines and safety protocols I’ve been to a few race tracks lately to provide my coaching services to some drivers. I’ve taken on some consulting roles with motorsport-related media companies and Esports projects. I’ve also created a new online / digital coaching service where drivers can send me their data and video after their driving or race events for a full analysis and coaching report. It’s been fun to explore and expand.

But the biggest focus of all has been to evolve the way I’ve always gone racing as a contract driver into a way that I have more control over. Although I will always entertain opportunities to join existing race teams or pair up with drivers looking for me to join them in their own vision, I am working diligently on a program to be able to return to the IMSA WeatherTech Sportscar Championship to compete in - and win - the Rolex 24 at Daytona, the 12 Hours of Sebring, Petit Le Mans and of course the grand-daddy, the 24 HOURS OF LE MANS! I’ve competed in all of these races many times before (except for Le Mans) but still need those wins and have a lot of momentum pushing me towards this goal.

When I’m ready to speak more on that subject, which could very well be in the near future, I may call upon some (or all) of you to join in my endeavor.

Either way, I hope you are all well and that life returns to some form of normalcy for you. I truly appreciate all your enthusiasm and support over the years and look forward to sharing more of my adventures with you soon.

All the best and please keep in touch (even by replying to this email)!

Sincerely,

Guy Cosmo
